ANEK LINES
The Company was founded on April 10, 1967, under the name "Anonymous Crete Shipping Company SA" and the distinctive title «ANEK LINES», with shareholders ordinary people of the island. It is the first grassroots company and the idea of its establishment arose from the need to improve ferry services connecting Crete to mainland Greece.
Governed by a 15-member council and employs an average of 1800 people in crews & Land Management Services. Its headquarters are in Chania, a proprietary ultra-modern offices, which have a large conference center can accommodate 500 people. The activation of Anek in the passenger shipping industry began in September 1970 with the launch of the first ship, the unforgettable "KYDON" in the Piraeus - Chania. Since then its development has been impressive.
The large and modern fleet includes 11 owned Anek ships, Greek registry, which is certified by the International Systems Security and Quality of ISM & ISPS Systems, ISO & HACCP respectively.
Moreover, applying the International STCW Convention of 1995 relating to the quality of crews (specialization, qualifications, experience etc), Anek admittedly has managed to maintain a leading position in the field of international and domestic shipping.
Today ANEK LINES belongs to the group of most modern shipping company-wide presence and great prestige. Since December 1998, with the introduction of the Athens Stock Exchange, has ensured the rise. The modern and high standard fleet Anek LINES travels certified to EN ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP (ELOT 1416) by the Certification Body of Quality Management Systems DQS GmbH Germany.
