The Hellenic Seaways operates the Greek seas from February 1999. This is the largest Greek shipping company, which with 32 ships serving more than 35 ports in the Cyclades, the Northeastern Aegean, the Southeast Aegean, Crete, the Saronic Gulf and the Sporades. From 2005, the company launched a new course development through the implementation of an important project integration and deployment of new vessels in its fleet.
     In 2005 joined the fleet of Hellenic Seaways five new ships: the newly HIGHSPEED 5 (speed boat), as soon as F / O / C boat in the Aegean, with a maximum speed of 41 knots and 38 knots service, the newly E/G- A / C MYKONOS ISLAND ship, which was entirely built in Greece, and FLYINGCAT 5 FLYINGCAT 6 (Catamaran Ships), which replaced six hydrofoils and the Hellenic Voyager (Ro-Ro) that serves heavy goods vehicles.
      In 2007 the company received 4 new ships: the new ship F / F / B ISLAND Chios, which was also built in Greece, the F / F / B Ariadne and two ship type Ro-Ro, and the Celtic Sun Hellenic Master.
      The Hellenic Seaways successfully implemented an investment plan that included the purchase and construction of 9 new ships. Among these, two were built entirely in Greece, supporting employees in shipyard in Perama area Elefsis and Scaramanga, which proves the company's commitment and willingness to provide substantial support to the Greek shipping industry.
     In addition, the company successfully expanded into new lines of coasters. In 2007 the newly launched "ISLAND Chios" in Piraeus-Chios-Mytilini.
